Fresh Express has issued a recall of limited cases of packaged salads after Florida people found a dead bat inside a container. The recall was issued to Organic Marketside Spring Mix. It is reported that two customers had consumed a potion of the package before they notice a dead bat inside the package. The package was brought at a Florida Walmart store.
The company has asked consumers those who had bought the salad to discard the package and to check at the local health department if they had consumed it. Walmart has also asked its customers to discard the package. Fresh Express told consumers to request a refund by visiting the store where they have purchased the salad or by calling the Fresh Express Consumer Response Center toll-free at (800) 242-5472 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have tested the container with the dead bat for rabies. It said that both individuals report being healthy and that neither have any indications of rabies. The recalled Organic Marketside Spring Mix are 5 oz clear bags sold only at Walmart stores in southeastern US, carries a production code of G089B19 and best-if-used-by date of APR 14 2017, located on the top label.
Fresh Express included that just a single line of its items had been influenced. They discharged an announcement saying that they consider matters of sustenance security important and that they thoroughly comply with all food safety regulations. CDC has told consumers who have consumed one of the recalled salads and found any decomposed animal parts to contact their local health department. It is not necessary if they do not find anything in the salads and they are not at risk.
