As expected, OnePlus has launched its latest flagship for the Indian market, which is company’s biggest market, at an event in Mumbai earlier today. OnePlus smartphones are best known for its premium specifications and cheaper price tag. But, OnePlus 5 differs from the previous offering in terms of price, as it comes with a hefty price tag, however, way far lesser than Samsung Galaxy S8 and Apple iPhone 7 series.
The reason why I compare OnePlus 5 with the premium offerings from Samsung and Apple is because the former features design and hardware and software specification on par with these two phones. Coming to pricing, OnePlus 5 will retail at Rs 32,999 for the 6GB RAM / 64GB storage variant and goes all the way up to Rs 37,999 for the 8GB RAM / 128GB storage model.
The device goes on sale starting today exclusively on Amazon India at 4:30 pm through Early Access sale. The OnePlus 5 will also be made available for purchase from the company’s official retail stores – OnePlus Store, and OnePlus Experience Store on June 27th from 12 AM.
OnePlus offers laptop rival specifications with OnePlus 5 sporting 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, Snapdragon 835 processor, a total of 52 megapixels camera on the rear as well as front, and a 3300mAh battery.
