HTC has unveiled three new Desire ranges of smartphones – the Desire 530, Desire 630 and Desire 825 smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Sunday. These phone features a colorful polycarbonate rear panels with micro-splash that creates unique paint speckles for each phone.

The top-end trim of the Desire series is the Desire 825, which features a 5.5-inch Super LCD 720p display. The handset is powered by a 32-bit quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz and coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage that comes with an expandable microSD slot.

Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the Desire 825 sports 13-megapixels on the back and a 5-megapixel front snapper. Both the front and the rear camera can record 1080p video and packs in a 2,700mAh battery. The phone will be available in single SIM as well as dual-SIM variants depending on the market.

The Desire 825 features Hi-Res BoomSound with Dolby Audio and will come packaged with a Hi-Res headset.

The Desire 630 shares identical specs from the Desire 830, except it comes with a 5-inch 720p display and a 2,200mAh battery. Other than these exceptions, the phone packs the same Snapdragon 400 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 13/5MP camera combo, and stereo speakers. The desire 630 will only come in dual-SIM and offers Cat 4 LTE.

The Desire 530 is the least expensive model among the three in terms of pricing and specs. The phone features a 5-inch 720p display, a 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 chipset, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a microSD expansion support, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera and a 2,200mAh battery. The Desire 530 will come in Graphite Grey and Solid Stratus White block colours.

The new Desire range packs polycarbonate shell with specially created micro splash effect. “Playing to people’s personal tastes, their desire to be different and the fact that smartphones are now as much of a fashion accessory as they are a personal hub, HTC’s design team employed a paint process that treats each phone as a canvas,” notes HTC in its press statement.

The new Desire range smartphones will be available for purchase from March, but we don’t have the pricing details right now.

Alongside the Desire family, the HTC One X9 made its global debut that’s currently available only in China. The phone will be available in North Asia and EMEA from end of February 2016. There’s no word from the company on pricing yet, but it was launched in China at CNY 2,399 (approx. Rs. 24,400) at the current exchange rates.

Spec-wise, you’ll get a 5.5-inch full-HD display, a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of inbuilt storage, a microSD expansion of up to 2TB, a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera and a front-facing 5-megapixel fixed-focus camera. The dual-SIM handset is backed by a 3000mAh battery.
