pawan kalyan attacks BJP on Rohit Vemula sucide twitter thoughts

Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan revisited Hyderabad Central University student Rohith Vemula Sucide case today as a part of his five points raised against the ruling BJP party.

The suicide of Hyderabad Central University student Rohith Vemula created huge sensation earlier this year, targeting the ruling BJP party. Rohith Vemula committed suicide after he was suspended from the university as a punishment, however, opposition parties claimed BJP for his death because he was a dalit student. BJP proved that he was not a dalit by investigating his family’s background and claimed he had produced fake caste documents to secure admission in the university.

Yesterday Pawan Kalyan Tweeted that ” The ‘Jana Sena Party’ which had supported the BJP & TDP alliance in 2014 elections in both AP, Telangana but also in Karnataka (for BJP) would like to communicate to BJP led central Govt on the following issues;

1. Cow Slaughter 2.Rohit Vemula Suicide 3. Patriotism 4.Demonetisation 5. AP Special Status

Today, Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan revisited the incident and slammed the political parties intervening in university matter to gain their mileage. Going by an array of his tweets, Pawan felt that through proper counselling a intelligent scholar’s death could have averted.

Pawan Kalyan Tweets goes by:

“There is no doubt that “Rohit Vemula” hated BJP like many millions of individuals. But that doesn’t give them a license to harass individuals who doesn’t align or against them and that too when his form of protest was within the ‘democratic means’. This applies to any group or Party not to BJP alone.

Even if ‘Rohith Vemula’ had said something in haste about saffronisation with his university rival groups, ‘Centre’ could have just seen it as a part of the ongoing students ideological disagreement. And if their rivalry was causing law & order issues then they could have let the concern authority to enforce the disciplinary measures. But centre took it personally in this case for reasons unknown.

So the punishment meted out to Rohith Vemula through suspension & alienation from the Campus driven him to suicide and also due to lack of much needed moral support from within his own group made him more vulnerable. May be Rohith Vemula’s anger and disappointment stemmed out from the realisation of ‘non-existent egalitarian society’. A proper student counselling with a humane approach would have saved an intelligent student who was of philosophical in nature.

The most tragic part of ‘Rohit Vemula Suicide’ was when Anti-BJP parties were busy trying to gain a political mileage out of it and BJP- its allies were busy proving that ‘Rohith was not a Dalit’. But all of them have forgotten to answer, ‘How to prevent such young lives from committing suicides in future?..out of despair, disappointment and resentment. I hope for a day ‘where our universities will be more known for ‘Academic Excellence’ than the “Battle grounds’ for political parties.”
