Yaman Story & Review
Billed as a political thriller, Yaman spins around a common man, who intends to make big in politics. Vijay Antony essays the role of Tamilarasan, an ordinary man, who goes to jail for the sake of money and the person behind it is the political mastermind Karunakaran (Thiagarajan). The film tells how Tamilarasan becomes a big shot in politics with an intriguing and appealing twists and turns. The film mostly deals with the background politics onto the mainstream politics, though it has no reference with the present day politics.
The core plot of the story is something that most of the directors won’t touch because of its tendency that it could not entertain the audience if it doesn’t have the streamlined narration. But Jeeva Shankar has done a good job making the script more intriguing with adding right amount of twist and turns here and there. The movie opens with a major twist which continues till the end. The narration of the movie is sleek and crystal clear with minimal complexity.
As usual Vijay Antony steals the show with his rocking performance. On the other hand, the versatile veteran actor Thiagarajan impressed everyone and his performance is top notch. Miya George, who plays the wife of Vijay Antony, has done her part very well. The background score composed by Vijay Antony himself takes the move to the next level that engages movie lovers with sizzling score.
