CBS unveiled first trailer for Star Trek: Discovery; Coming this fall
CBS just released a full-length trailer for its Star Trek: Discovery during the network’s upfront presentation. The trailer reveals lots of new characters, plenty of action, and spaceships. The series seems to be the prequel to the Enterprise where Commander Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) takes Discovery on her command for the first time.
Meanwhile, Vulcans and Klingon engage with the ship, lots of interactions, and Federation’s involvement, thus shedding light on a bunch of plots where Captain Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) gives orders to Burnham.
CBS has also announced that the series will have 15 episodes, 2 episodes up from the original 13-episode order. The Discovery will get a companion talk show, Talking Trek. The first teaser for the series was released in 2016 and for almost a year there hasn’t an update. The show was supposed to be aired in January 2017, but the production delays forced showrunner Bryan Fuller to quit, as he is busy with Starz’s American Gods. Finally, the trailer gave us hope that the series will hit television this fall, but the network didn’t reveal an actual release date.
Star Trek: Discovery is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Alex Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout, Bryan Fuller’s Living Dead Guy Productions and Roddenberry Entertainment. EPs are Alex Kurtzman, Bryan Fuller, Heather Kadin, Gretchen J. Berg & Aaron Harberts, Akiva Goldsman, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth.
The series will premiere on CBS this fall, with all episodes of the series available on CBS All Acess. Remember, this trailer isn’t an international version, exclusive to the US arena. However, people in the UK and Ireland can watch the trailer here. Views apart from these region will not be able to watch the official one, but will be able to watch mirrored ones.
