The most anticipated film Vada Chennai starring Dhanush and Amala Paul is all set to resume the second schedule of shooting in the first week of March. Directed by prominent director Vetri Maaran, Vada Chennai is a Gangster Thriller film which is a trilogy. All the three parts of the film will be produced by A. Subaskaran`s Lyca Productions and Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films with Vetrimaran’s Grass Root Film Company.
The film stars Dhanush, Amala Paul, Andrea Jeremaih in the key roles along with Vijay Sethupathi, Samuthirakani, Daniel Balaji, Kishore, Karunas and others in supporting roles. This is the first time a Tamil film is made as a trilogy of which the first installment will be releasing in 2017, and the second installment in 2018 and the third and final installment in 2019. Vetrimaaran has originally planned to make it as a two part franchise but owing to the importance and length of the story, the film is being made as three part franchise. Santhosh Narayanan will be rendering musical score for the film.
Vada Chennai is Vetrimaaran’s long time dream project which was delayed because of casting and production cost. Vetri and Dhanush had already delivered a super hit film Pudupettai, a local ganster film. He is well acclaimed for making realistic movies and his latest flick Visaaranai was critically acclaimed, received several international awards and missed the Oscar Nomination for Best Feature Film in Other Language by a margin.
There has been a lot of buzz on the film since the film announced which has raised the curiosity and excitement for the film. The first installment of the Vada Chennai franchise is expected to release on Diwali 2017. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
