Starz is so quick on the renewal of the gorgeous American fantasy TV series American Gods for a second season, which comes just two weeks after the series premiered on April 30. The first season of Bryan Fuller and Michael Green adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s 2001 award-winning novel has received rave reviews from critics and TV fans.
The first two episodes of American Gods have been hailed by critics, giving them generous ratings, and have got commendable rating/share and viewers share in the US. The series is based on the novel of the same name is about old and new deities and their sex lives. The American Gods Season 2 is likely to debut in mid-2018.
“Bryan Fuller, Michael Green and Neil Gaiman have evolved the art form of television narratively, structurally and graphically with American Gods, and we’re thrilled to be working again with these artists as they continue to build the worlds and wars of the gods,” Starz programming president Carmi Zlotnik said in a statement.
American Gods throws light on Shadow moon (Ricky Whittle), an ex-con who has been released from prison before his tenure, encounters Wednesday (Ian McShane), who offers him a job, and realizes that he was tricked in the middle of a war between the Old Gods of mythology and the New Gods of media and technology. It also stars Emily Browning, Orlando Jones, Pablo Schreiber, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley and Back To The Future icon Crispin Glover.
