Sri Thenandal Studios, which is bankrolling the historical epic project Sangamithra has announced on Twitter that Shruti Haasan will not be a part of the project anymore and the actor subsequently released a press statement on why she couldn’t able to continue with the project.
Though Shruti’s official statement in this regard was made available to everyone, a faction of media reported otherwise. As per Shruti’s statement, she hasn’t “received a proper bound script or a proper date calendar” and hence she decided to opt out of the project. But few, reported that she was ruled out by the production citing some unreliable source.
The studio has again taken to twitter to clarify things hogging the issue, “Neither Mr.Sundar C nor the production have made any comments about Shruti Haasan’s exit barring our official tweet. Any other comments arising in the media is baseless.”
Sangamithra is a magnum opus to be produced on a whopping budget of Rs. 250 crore. Director Sundar C will be helming this period extravaganza while Oscar winning musician AR Rahman is rendering songs and background score. Sangamithra, as the name suggests, is about a warrior princes. With Shruti, who undergone months of training for this project, walking out of the project the team is currently hunting for a sound actress to replace her.
On work front, Shruti is currently busy promoting her upcoming Hindi film Behen Hogi Teri, which is slated to release on June 9th. She is expected to join the sets of Sabaash Naidu soon.
