It is known that several Kollywood celebrities were the member of PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals). As the Jallikattu movement became massive which grabbed the attention of worldwide people, film fraternities have started raising their voices against the ban of Jallikattu and PETA.
Some of them have come forward and confirmed that they were not the members of PETA, including Trisha, Dhanush and now Soundarya Rajinikanth. Soundarya Rajinikanth had tweeted to this effect which reads, “Clarifying to those who think I’m a member of PETA, it is false. I am not a member of PETA and I support #Jallikattu entirely”.
Responding to this, her elder sister Aishwarya Dhanush had also tweeted thus, “None of us are members of PETA n we as a family are proud of every tamilian involved in this massive movement n stand by in full support”
Though she clarified that they were not members of PETA, Soundarya Rajinikanth is still a member of AWBI (Animal Welfare Board of India), which was the key brain behind the ban on Jallikattu. The entire AWB has been controlled by a single family and the inclusion of bulls in performing animals was the centre point for the SC to ban Jallikattu.
However, Soundarya Rajinikanth avoided responding to tweets in regards to AWB. If she is the member of AWB, then she should quit from the post, if she really support Jallikattu.
