Superstar Rajinikanth is currently busy shooting for the mega budget 2.0 movie which is the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster hit Enthiran. Directed by Shankar, the team is presently filming important sequences of the film in Chennai with post-production works going on in full swing. The film is bankrolled by Lyca Productions is all set for a grand release on Diwali 2017.
Meanwhile, Dhanush announced a new project in mid 2016 which is Ranjikanth’s next after 2.0, which will be directed by Pa Ranjith, the one who gave a blockbuster hit Kabali with Rajinikanth in 2016. Dhanush will be producing the film and there were no further updates on Rajini-Ranjith film since the announcement.
Pa Ranjith is busy in scripting for the film and will finalize the script with Rajini and Dhanush in early March. The latest buzz from the team is that they have decided to go on shoot for the film in May 2017. The exact date of the shoot is yet to be revealed. At the same time Ranjith is also locking locations in Chennai and Mumbai for the shoot.
They are yet to finalize cast and crew for the film including the female lead. The film is based on the Mumbai slums more or less similar to Kabali in which Rajini will fight for the rights of oppressed community in Mumbai.
