American Crime Story: First Look of Penelope Cruz as Donatella Versace in Assassination of Gianni Versace has arrived
The critically acclaimed TV miniseries American Crime Story will not return anytime soon this year, but to make up the fans, the makers have released the first look of Oscar Award winner Penelope Cruz as Donatella Versace in the Assassination of Gianni Versace. She portrays Gianni Versace’s, played by Edgar Ramirez, sister who inherited her brother’s fashion house after his murder in 1997.
The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story will be the third season of the FX miniseries which will explore the murder of designer Gianni Versace by serial killer Andrew Cunanan, based on Maureen Orth’s book Vulgar Favors: Andrew Cunanan, Gianni Versace, and the Largest Failed Manhunt in U.S. History.
The first season The People v. O.J. Simpson that unveiled the murder trial of famed O.J. Simpson went on to win several awards including an Emmy was well received by TV fans. Executive producer Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story), is currently working with three seasons side-by-side. The third season fo American crime Story has all-star cast, including Darren Criss as Andrew Cunanan, Edgar Ramirez as Gianni Versace, Ricky Martin as Gianni’s longtime partner Antonio D’Amico, and Academy Award winner Penelope Cruz as Donatella Versace.
Penelope Cruz is dressed on dark pink gown, who is guarded by two muscular men near the pool at Villa Casa Casuarina, the Miami Beach mansion where Gianni lived and was killed. They were also working on another season, subtitled Katrina, which will follow the titular hurricane and its aftermath in New Orleans. Annette Bening will portray Kathleen Blanco, the governor of Louisiana during and after Katrina; Matthew Broderick as Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Director Michael D. Brown; and Dennis Quaid as President George W. Bush.
