Outlander Season 3 Synopsis

The synopsis of the season 3 was unveiled by Starz a while ago:

The story picks up right after Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) travels through the stones to return to her life in 1948. Now pregnant with Jamie’s (Sam Heughan) child, she struggles with the fallout of her sudden reappearance and its effect on her marriage to her first husband, Frank (Tobias Menzies). Meanwhile, in the 18th century, Jamie suffers from the aftermath of his doomed last stand at the historic battle of Culloden, as well as the loss of Claire. As the years pass, Jamie and Claire attempt to make a life apart from one another, each haunted by the memory of their lost love. The budding possibility that Claire can return to Jamie in the past breathes new hope into Claire’s heart… as well as new doubt. Separated by continents and centuries, Claire and Jamie must find their way back to each other. As always, adversity, mystery, and adventure await them on the path to reunion. And the question remains: When they find each other, will they be the same people who parted at the standing stones, all those years ago?

Outlander Season 3 Story

The upcoming season of Outlander will largely focus on Claire and Jamie characters. In a recent interview with The Wrap, Claire said that fans will get to witness more about Jamie’s past of what he has gone through in 20 years and she will be seen as a professional surgeon indeed.

In the previous season, Claire travelled into the past and eventually ended up marrying Jamie and later they parted their ways from each other. Here comes the fascinating moment where Jamie and Claire might reunite in the season 3 which she teased in a recent interview saying, “Of course, there will be a reunion. Which I think is really beautiful and it’s been filmed really beautifully. It’s very interesting, it’s like, how do two people come together after not seeing each other for 20 years, after both believing each other have died, and how do you build something real again?”

In a recent Facebook live chat session, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe who reprises Jamie and Claire, respectively, revealed some interesting things about the season 3. There will be a surprise reunion between them and after a day everything goes upside down as usually it happens when Claire is involved. It seems like the season 3 has lots of exciting factors for the fans to witness.

Claire teased about her child and other things when speaking to EW,

This is right after Claire gives birth to Brianna. Those scenes are wonderful because it’s a new beginning, but it’s so fraught with so many other things. Obviously, this is Jamie’s child, but Claire’s in a new time and believes that Jamie is dead. So she’s really trying to look forward and give her daughter a new life, a stable family.

I think it’s difficult for both of them. Frank is coming to terms with his wife. He didn’t quite know what had happened. She disappeared and she’s back. They’re tentatively trying to see if they can patch things up and allow themselves to embrace a future together. They really do try, but it’s not quite that easy.

Outlander Season 3 Cast: New Addition

The spectators should brace themselves as they will be witnessing some new addition to the star cast for the season 3. As per sources, Tanya Reynolds and Hannah James will be essaying the roles of Dunsany sisters as Geneva and Isobel respectively. Gary Young has also been roped into the season 3 playing Mr. Willoughby while Charlie Hiett as Captain Thomas Leonard. The season will also have Lauren Lyle as young Marsali.

The Outlander Season 3 is all set to premiere in September this year, though the exact date of the release is uncertain at this time, at least we now know the month. The season 3 surely going to enthrall the show’s fandom because of the fact that it packs the intriguing plot and the fascinating addition of popular stars will leave them spellbound.
