VIP 2 Trailer Breakdown Analysis: Same Story in a Brand New Look

Besides actor and filmmaker, Dhanush is undeniably a much talented lyricist, singer, screenplay writer of South Indian film industry, thanks to his creative thoughts and breakthrough performances in movies. The highly anticipated trailer and audio of his next outing VIP 2 (Velai Illa Pattadhaari 2) has just been released in a grand event held in Mumbai earlier today.

The film’s trailer offered a glimpse of what could be expected from the second installment of VIP franchise. Actually speaking, there’s nothing new in the film, same story but in a brand new look. This time, we have Kajol playing the lead antagonist in the film, who is a boss of a corporate company. And, Dhanush is a protagonist and will be seen again as a jobless guy, but what’s new in this episode is he is a married jobless guy.

Meanwhile, there seems to be tons of action, light-hearted moments, and obviously power-packed punch dialogues. Dhanush’s onscreen chemistry with Amala Paula and Kajol is quite gripping and interesting. Kajol is making a big comeback to Kollywood after decades and her onscreen presence in this film is actually brilliant and powerful.

Despite the fact that the film has the same old story that audiences witnessed in VIP with some slight modifications, VIP 2 will definitely become a bankable project due the reach of the first season and apparently actor Dhanush. Going by the gripping trailer, there is no doubt that film will be sold for a big price and will emerge as a crowdpuller after release.

VIP 2 is a sequel to 2011 blockbuster hit VIP. The film is directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth and features Dhanush, Kajol, and Amala Paul in the lead. It is funded by Wunderbar Films, the actor’s own production house partnered with Kalaipuli S Thanu’s V Creations. Music for the film is rendered by Sean Roldan but fans of Anirudh could miss him a lot in this season.

But, there’s a saying don’t judge the book by its cover. So let’s wait till July 28 for the film to release and see how it performance at the box office.
