Bigg Boss Tamil: Kamal Haasan’s new reality show and its 15 contestants

Bigg Boss Tamil: Bigg Boss is quite a popular reality show in India which had seen 10 successful seasons in Hindi with Salman Khan as host, an adaptation of international format of Big Brother, created by Endemol (Netherlands). The reality show has also been successful in Kannada and Bengali. And, now it is being introduced for Tamil audience.

The Bigg Boss Tamil version has kick-started today hosted by actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan through which he forays into television space. In an interesting development, the Tamil version of the show will have 15 contestants rather 14 contestants in Hindi. All of the 15 contestants have been introduced and locked up in hugely erected house.

These 15 contestants (homemates) will live in the house for 100 days and will have access to all amenities but will be kept off the grid. They will not have access to phone, newspaper, laptop and literally the outside world. Based on nominations and public votes, two homemates will be evicted each week and the one who remains till the end is the winner of the show. Bigg Boss (Kamal Haasan) will oversee the homemates and instruct them by voice.

While big names were rumored to be the part of the show, they still simply remained rumors. There are rumors that the makers of the show approached several celebrities in Kollywood as well as Television industry, but many turned down the offer as they were not quite comfortable with being locked up in a house for 100 days. It is said that they paid hefty amount to these 15 contestants, out of which many were outdated celebrities.

In a related note, Star Vijay has launched a band new logo. This reality show will air daily on Star Vijay at 9 pm and at 8:30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
