With just a couple of days more for the release of SS Rajamouli mammoth Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion, the excitement already heats up in the air. The pre-release business of the second part of the Baahubali series is astounding that no other Indian cinemas have done it in the past. The craze for the movie is getting big day by day which we haven’t seen so far in the history of Indian cinemas.
Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion is releasing on April 28th and it has already made over Rs. 500 crore in pre-release business. The film is slated for release in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. While the Hindi version is presented by Karan Johar, who also marketed and distributed the first part, he is likely to make more than 10% of the revenues this time.
The overseas theatrical rights for North America (Canada and USA) were sold for Rs. 45 crore for all the three languages. The ticket prices have been raked up to $40 and apparently the net profit in the these territories are likely to be lower.
Baahubali: The Beginning jus made Rs. 45 crore from satellite rights for all the three versions combined, the second part, Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion is going to rip apart records made by movies. Sony Tv has bagged the Hindi satellite rights for a whopping Rs. 51 crore while the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions have gone to Star TV. The exact figure is yet unknown, but sources familiar with the matter predict close to Rs. 80 crore.
The audio rights of all version combined were sold for around Rs. 15 crore. The film is slated to release in more than 9000 screens worldwide – 6500+ screens in India and the US alone will witness 1100 screens, eventually the highest for any Indian movie. With that being said, Baahubali 2 makes a biggest release in India than any Bollywood movie. Usually the Khans of Bollywood would make big release with their movies with around 4500 – 5000 screens.
