Royal Enfield Himalayan

Royal Enfield has finally taken the wraps off the most anticipated motorcycle of the year, the Himalayan with a price tag of Rs. 1,55,545 (ex-showroom Mumbai). The adventure tourer would cost you Rs. 1.78 lakh when you cruise it on the roads. With this price tag, the Himalayan is positioned between the Classic 350 and the Classic 500 in Indian shore.

Though the bike typically designed for off-road riding, the bike is touted as a multi-purpose motorcycle, which means it is said to deliver top class performance on regular roads as well as off-road conditions. Certainly, the naked bike will attract the likes of Adventure freaks, as there are only few bikes out in this segment.

The Himalayan is powered by a 411cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that is good for 24.5 horsepower and peak torque of 32Nm at 4000-4500rpm, clubbed to a five-speed transmission. The stopping power for the bike is fulfilled by a 300mm single Bybre disc with twin-piston calliper in front and a 220mm disc with single-piston calliper at the rear.  The suspension duties of the bike are taken care of by 41mm telescopic forks at the front with 200mm travel and a monoshock in the rear. The bike rides on a 21-inch 90/90 CEAT tyre in the front and 17-inch 120/90 tyre at the rear.

Royal Enfield has already started accepting bookings for the motorcycle with deliveries starting next month. The Himalayan is available in snow white and granite black colors.
