Hyundai Tucson has been spotted testing in Chennai – Bangalore highway recently which was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in India back in February.

The Tucson is based on the company’s successful fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language and it gives an aggressive look for the SUV. The third-generation Tucson has seamless body design with the fascia having the signature two slate grille and large air intakes, projector headlamps and a redesigned tail lights on the back.

Inside, it gets all the bells and whistles including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electric tailgate, automatic parking, multi-driving modes, lane keeping, blind spot assist and so on. It will be positioned between the Creta and Santa Fe in their SUV lineup.

The five-seater Tucson is expected to be powered by a 1.4-liter T-GDI turbo petrol engine and a 2.0-lier turbo diesel engine. Power is transferred to the front wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox or 7-speed automatic transmission.

As for mechanics, it will be powered by a 1.6-liter diesel engine producing 128bhp and 260Nm of torque. It may also come with a 1.8-liter petrol engine that produces 147bhp and 178Nm of Torque. Both engines will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Tucson will be launched in India in September and is expected to take on the likes of Honda CRV in the premium SUV segment.
