Audi has launched the second generation R8 V10 Plus in India at a price tag of Rs. 2.47 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). The sports car has made its global debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
As for looks, the new Audi R8 sports masculine and sturdy stance with a single-frame hexagonal mesh grille and large air intakes.
The car gets updated LED headlights and also there’s an options laser lighting clusters that doubles the visible range to 600 meters. On the rear, the LED tail-lights are wrapped around the lavish air inlets. It gets a new aluminum – carbon fiber monocoque shell.
The Audi R8 V10 Plus is powered by a 5.2-litre V10 petrol engine that produces a massive 610bhp, and accelerates zero to 100kmph in just 3.2 seconds before hitting the electronically-limited top speed of 330kmph.
The all-wheel-drive Quattro is clubbed to a 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox with three automatic modes and optional manual control. The new Audi R8 is constructed minimal with lightweight material weighing just 1454kgs.
Inside, the Audi R8 V10 Plus sports all the bells and whistles that come with newly-developed bucket seats and a driver-oriented cockpit. Many of the buttons and knobs in the older model have been replaced by the configurable 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit.
Customers also have a choice between Alcantara/pearl Nappa leather and fine Nappa leather upholstery, and will be able to add clear-coated carbon fibre accents. There is an optional 500-Watt Bang & Olufsen sound system as well along with an Audi phone box.
